Our film and studio business focuses on producing and supporting the best in British cinema. To this end, we have a specialist team working to identify and support the rising crop of talented new British film makers, as well as continuing our work with some of the most respected and celebrated British directors.
This division has been involved in the production of several highly successful British movies, including recently working with legendary British director Mike Leigh on his multi-award winning drama Vera Drake.
We have also been involved with the production of hit BBC series Sherlock Holmes staring Rupert Everett, as well as the Golden Globe-winning drama The Life And Times of Peter Sellers, which starred Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush in the title role of one of Britain's best-loved and successful comedic actors.
One of our greatest strengths is our location-providing business, called Central Locations. The arm of our business identifies and provides locations for all manner of films, TV shows and photo shoots, across a wide range of subjects. It is through this side of the business that we identify opportunities to invest in up-and-coming British films.
Our film studio - Covent Garden Film Studios - in Mercer Street, London, has also played an integral part in this division's success. We have been asked to use the studio for product launches and parties including those for the Xbox 360 and Marrakesh and River Island fashion houses. Other companies that have used our studio space run from Channel 4 and the BBC to Warners Brothers, Sony and Virgin Music.
Our aim is to expand the film studio portfolio through further acquisitions in key productivve areas.
FILM FINANCE
Our private equity arm is also interested in raising finance for new and exciting British cinematic talents and is consistently supporting and developing up-and-coming directors discovered by our experienced team and wide industry contacts.
